Professional line marking for warehouses and industrial sites

Line marking is the foundation of a safe, efficient and compliant warehouse. Clear floor markings tell people and vehicles exactly where they can and cannot go, separate pedestrian walkways from forklift traffic routes, and define racking, storage, loading and hazard zones so your operation runs smoothly. At Fastline we have spent over a decade marking out warehouses, distribution centres, manufacturing plants and external yards across the UK, and we know that the quality of the product, the surface preparation and the application all determine how long your markings last.

Every site we work on is surveyed and set out before a single line is laid. We assess your floor condition, traffic flow and risk profile, then recommend the right material system for the job, whether that is fast-setting thermoplastic, hard-wearing MMA (methyl methacrylate), or a high-build epoxy coating. The result is crisp, durable demarcation that keeps working long after cheaper paint would have faded under forklift wheels and foot traffic.

Internal and external line marking

Internal and external line marking are very different disciplines. Inside a warehouse, markings need to withstand constant MHE traffic on power-floated concrete, resist tyre scuffing and turning forces, and stay bright in low-wear and high-wear areas alike. Outside, markings have to cope with weather, UV, standing water, temperature swings and heavier vehicle loads across tarmac and concrete. Because the surfaces, conditions and materials differ so much, we have dedicated pages explaining each in detail.

Materials we use

Choosing the right material is the difference between markings that last for years and markings that need redoing every few months. We specify the system to suit your surface, traffic and downtime tolerance:

  • Thermoplastic, a hard-wearing, fast-setting material ideal for warehouse floors, roadways and high-traffic routes, trafficable within around 10 minutes.
  • MMA (methyl methacrylate), a cold-applied resin that cures quickly even in low temperatures and bonds exceptionally well to external and high-traffic surfaces.
  • High-build epoxy and anti-slip coatings for walkways, ramps and areas where grip and durability are critical.
  • Water-based and solvent-based line paints where a fast, cost-effective refresh is the right solution.

Why warehouse line marking matters

The HSE consistently identifies workplace transport, slips, trips and collisions between vehicles and pedestrians as leading causes of serious warehouse injuries. Clear, well-maintained line marking is one of the simplest and most cost-effective controls you can put in place. It guides safe movement, reduces the risk of forklift and pedestrian collisions, protects racking and building fabric from impacts, and helps you demonstrate compliance with HSE workplace transport guidance during audits and insurance reviews.

Beyond safety, good demarcation drives efficiency. Clearly defined aisles, bay markings, pick faces and storage zones speed up operations, reduce errors and make better use of your floor space. Whether you need a complete new layout, a refresh of faded lines, or a one-off marking project, our nationwide installation teams deliver to a high standard with minimal disruption to your operation.
